BREAKING: Bomb-laden Bus Kills JTF Member At Maiduguri Checkpoint

It seems the terrorists operating in the northeastern area of Nigeria are becoming more vicious in recent times since the assumption of office by President Muhammadu Buhari, following the spate of bombing incidents.

Reuters has just reported that one member of Nigeria’s security Joint Task Force (JTF) was killed by a suicide bomber in a bus at the main checkpoint on the outskirts of the northeastern city of Maiduguri on Monday.

According to the report, a JFT member who witnessed the incident informed that the driver of the bomb-laden bus drove forward to another inspection point at the Njimtilo checkpoint in the southwest of the city where he detonated the bomb after passengers had alighted from it.

Three civilians were said to have sustained injuries from the blast.

This portrays another dimension of attack by the insurgents by targeting military checkpoints.

However, it makes one wonder too whether the passengers who alighted from the bus before the suicide bomber targeted the checkpoint are also members of the terror group, though no group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.
