Again, militants storm Lagos, Ogun communities, 30 feared killed

Suspected militants have unleashed mayhem on residents of the Lagos-Ogun borderline community of Imushin, Ita-Oluwo along Ogijo, killing eight people in the attack.

The militants who entered the communities on Thursday night, June 23, to organise a candlelight service for their departed soldiers were shooting sporadically as a mark of respect for their departed fellows.

The latest attack is sequel to an attack on June 17, in which 15 persons were killed in the  community by militants who are also suspected to be pipeline vandals.

During the previous attack, the militants reportedly promised to return for more killings and the latest siege on the community implies they have come to honour their vow.
