VP Slot: Alleged plot to suspend Adamawa senator, Ishaku Abbo from APC thickens

There were indications that the Adamawa State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was allegedly plotting to suspend Senator Ishaku Abbo from the party.

Abbo, who represents Adamawa North in the Senate, had kicked against the choice of his colleague representing Borno Central, Kashim Shettima as the Vice Presidential candidate of the party.

Abbo had said the choice of a fellow Moslem by the APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu was irresponsible, insensitive and ignorant of the Nigerian political system.

Abbo also announced his withdrawal from the Tinubu Support Organisation,(TSO), noting that he was surprised that the APC presidential candidate decided to ignore the recommendations of stakeholders in the party who advised against a Moslem Moslem ticket.

It was gathered that alleged move to suspend Abbo is being spearheaded by Shettima

Reacting to the development, on Wednesday, Abbo said he was already aware of the plot.

Although, he didn’t mention his name, Abbo alleged that Shettima and the leadership of party in the state were behind the fresh move to eject him from the party.

“My brother, you don’t have to ferry people to Yola to suspend me from APC because on my stand against an unpopular, insensitive, divisive and unjust political misadventure.
Go and do it in Mubi.
How can you want to rule a country like Nigeria and cannot tolerate divergent views? How can you gag people you stole their “ rightful place”?
Nigeria is bigger than where you were a governor 4 years ago.
Call off your dogs before I release my lions.
