Abdullahi Suleman has tipped his boss to succeed at Sunshine Stars in the 2015/16 Nigeria Professional Football League season
Unuanel was named Stars coach this week, replacing Kennedy Boboye, who resigned at the end of the last campaign, and will be assisted by Kayode Julius.
The highly-rated tactician coach was contracted to help the club challenge for honours and Abdullahi who is the Personal Assistant to the coach feels there is no better man for the job.
“I will first of all like to use this medium to congratulate coach Unuanel on being named the head coach of Sunshine Stars. It was a well deserved appointment,” the elated Abdullahi said in a chat with News24.
“He is one man that doesn’t lose focus and for me he will be a success in his new home in Akure. He is a dedicated and disciplined coach. The people of Akure won’t regret handing the job to him.
“Coach Samson Unuanel will work with last season’s team, which is a good thing,” Abdullahi said.
“He is willing to work with the players and the good thing is that he doesn’t want to change much in the team.
Unuanel is known for his youth policy and integrating them with the experienced ones, this Abdullahi believes will make teams fear Sunshine Stars.
“Teams have started looking at Sunshine Stars now and they will be a team to be reckoned with in the NPFL due to the coach Unuanel’s belief in a mixture of youth and experienced lads.”
The former Ocean Boys, Niger Tornadoes, Kwara United and Enyimba coach is expected to be unveiled by Sunshine Stars on Monday.
