There is a heavy deployment of security agents at the Supreme Court in Abuja ahead of today’s judgment in the cases of the Labour Party and its presidential candidate, Peter Obi; the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidate, Atiku Abubakar and the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidate, Bola Tinubu.
The situation also led to the restriction of many lawyers and journalists who arrived at the court to witness or cover the proceedings.
Only a few lawyers and journalists who have their names on the list would be allowed to have access to the courtroom.
Many of the journalists who thronged the court in an attempt to gain entrance premises were turned back by armed security operatives stationed at the various gates.
The security personnel comprising mainly operatives of the Nigeria police, the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps blocked the road from both the Federal Secretariat and Force Headquarters, preventing human and vehicular movements in the area.
