Barely a month after the Senator Representing Plateau Central Senatorial District, Joshua Dariye dumped the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, the Deputy Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Hon. Yusuf Gagdi, on Tuesday also joined the train by dumping the PDP for APC.
In the same vein, member representing Mikang Constituency, Daniel Nanlong has also defected from the PDP to the ruling APC.
Prior to the two lawmakers’ defection, the APC had 13 members, while the PDP had 10 out of the 24 constituencies that make up the House.
As a result of the defection of the two PDP lawmakers, APC now has 15 members, while the PDP has 8.
Reading a letter on the floor of the House, Speaker of the House of Assembly, RT. Hon. Peter Azi, congratulated the decamped members, stressing that in the APC there is no discrimination.
Azi called on the party to remain resolute, calling on citizens of the state to continue to support the APC both at the state and Federal levels.
