A former Deputy Governor of Osun State, Iyiola Omisore, who has been in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission over fraud related matters, may have been released.
According to reports, the Peoples Democratic Party chieftain, was released on Friday night after he agreed to refund the over N1.3bn he allegedly received from the office of the National Security Adviser.
On Friday, the EFCC was said to have granted him administrative bail after he made effort to refund the N1.3bn in installments.
He paid the first installment of N300m before he was allowed to go home, it was learnt.
Omisore was said to have made commitment to refunding the remaining 1bn over a period of time after he was provided with documents of how he collected the money from ONSA.
This is after several denials that he was been persecuted because he was a member of the opposition party, the PDP.
