Kinsmen honour Buhari’s media adviser, Adesina

Sons and daughters of Ipetumodu in Ife North Local Government Area of Osun State yesterday trooped out to the town in their hundreds, to give one of their sons, Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, a heroic reception on his appointment.

Also honoured with him was Mr. Olaoba Efuntayo who has been serving as a federal commissioner in the National Pension Commission. Speaking at the event, National President of Ipetumodu Progressive Union, Dr. S.O Oyebowale, appreciated the President for appointing Adesina to serve in his cabinet, saying he has chosen a right person for the position.

He described Adesina as a hardworking and outstanding journalist who knows his onions.

Oyebowale stated that Adesina has contributed positively to the greatness of his town, adding that with God on his side, he will apply his ability and capability to further better the country.

In his remarks, Apetu of Ipetumodu, Oba James Adegoke, also commended the President for appointing one their sons to the exalted position.

He said, “This is a good thing we have initiated to openly celebrate any child of Ipetumodu who is elevated to a position of honour and responsibility in Abuja or anywhere else in the world.” The monarch charged Adesina to be upright in the assignment given to him by his principal.

He also admonished him to bear the people of his community in mind in the scheme of things by remembering them at all times especially in the provision of jobs. Responding, Adesina appreciated the organisers of the reception and pledged to contribute his quota to the development of the town.

Also speaking at the event, Governor Rauf Aregbesola said, “He is the only journalist from the state that has occupied the seat of Special Adviser to the President. If the appointment were to be on nomination from people, Adesina may not get to the position but his appointment was divinely arranged by God. “Nobody can boast that he/she influenced the appointment.

He is favoured by God Almighty,” he said. Royal fathers present on the occasion were the Orangun of Okeila, Olufon of Ifon, akila of Akinlalu, Salu Edunabon, Oludo of Ido-osun and a host of others
