Lagos State Government yesterday gave conditions for the re-opening of Hardly Suites Hotels, belonging to Ex-Super Eagles star, Kanu Nwakwo, saying that the hotel management must comply will all its conditions or the property will remain closed perpetually.
T his development came as Pastors, Imams and hotels managers as well as captains of industries besieged the office of the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA), to seek the re-opening of their shut worship centres and businesses.
The government ordered hotel of the ex-football star shut over the use of a smoking 500KVA generator, ordering it replace it with a smoke and sound proof one to stop further pollution of the environment.
The hotel also got sevenday ultimatum to degrease its generator house polluted by block oil from the generator and paint the surrounding affected by the pollution within the period.
In a letter to the hotel management by the LSEPA and made to New Telegraph, the state government also warned the hotel managers to reduce the amount of noise generated to 55decibel during the day and 45 decibel at night.
LASEPA General Manager, Ademola Shabi, said that the agency would not re-open the hotel until the hotel management comply with the conditions within the stipulated time.
