Iranian President, Hassan Rouhani, yesterday made a phone call to President Muhammadu Buhari over the army’s clash with Shi’ite members and the situation with the Shi’ite leader in, Ibrahim el Zakzaky.
Iranian media houses reported that Rouhani had called Buhari to promptly act on the issue and “not allow a small matter degenerate into a bigger one.”
Rouhani, according to the BBC Hausa Service, also sought explanation on the whereabouts of Shi’ite leader, Malam Ibrahim el Zakzaky, following reports of his detention by the Nigerian Army.
It added that the Iranian president equally urged his Nigerian counterpart to launch a thorough investigation into the incidence that led to the death of some members of the group.
