Gov Udom condemns lobby for elongation of Rector’s tenure

The Akwa Ibom State governor, Emmanuel Udom has flayed some elders of his state who he accused of visiting President Muhammadu Buhari to lobby for the elongation of the tenure of the rector of the Maritime Academy Oron.

The governor took on the elders during a Government House prayer meeting where he described the elders visit to the presidency as self serving., urged them to shun acts that are capable of endangering genuine development plans of the administration.

He also accused the elders of requesting to the President to forgo the proposed plan by the government to upgrade Maritime Academy to a degree awarding Institution.

Udom who condemned the activities of the state’s indigenes who he said, tend to negate the industrialization focus of his administration, advised them to close ranks and support the visions of the administration.

While lauding the Government House Prayer team for their dedication in seeking divine blessings for the State, the governor restated his commitment to the successful turnaround of the state into an industrial hub in the Gulf of Guine
