After more than 24 hours of siege, the Presidency has ordered the withdrawal of the Department of State Security Service (DSS) personnel from the Abuja home of the immediate past National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd).
It was reliably learnt on Friday that the DSS operatives came with a search warrant and searched three houses associated with him – his house, his 91-year old father’s house and his son’s house in Apo Village, Abuja.
They may have found nothing except documents, he subsequently made a written statement after which the DSS operatives left and later returned his seized cars.
It was also confirmed that the DSS personnel seized Dasuki’s International Passports and other vital documents before leaving his house.
Sources close to the former NSA said even though there was no more restriction of his movement, “Dasuki still feel aggrieved that he was deprived of going for the Eid prayers and celebration of Friday.”
The source added: “He has also vowed to challenge what he described as unconstitutional action by the Federal Government, and plans to seek legal redress in order to enforce his fundamental human rights.”
The men of the DSS had invaded Dasuki’s house on Thursday night allegedly on the orders of President Muhammadu Buhari.
