Authorities of the Department of State Security ( DSS) have arrested Mr. Gordon Obua, who served as the Chief Security Officer (CSO) to former President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan during his six-year tenure
He was arrested after honouring an invitation from the agency and believed to have been detained at the Aso Drive headquarters of the secret service in Abuja.
It was learnt that Obua, an employee of the Department of State Security (DSS) was taken into custody by the secret service at the weekend but no reason has been given for the action.
It was learnt that Obua has gone on hunger strike in protest over the conditions of his detention, including a lack of access to lawyers and his family members.
The arrest of the CSO came on the heels of the siege on the residence of a former National Security Adviser( NSA), Col Sambo Dasuki (rtd) by the DSS and subsequent search of same to establish the veracity of the allegations that he mismanaged huge funds meant for the prosecution of the war against the Boko Haram insurgents in the last six years.
The DSS under the leadership of Alhaji Lawal Daura has been mandated by President Muhammadu Buhari to track the security funds and recover them.
