President Muhammadu Buhari has met with the newly appointed service chiefs and the National Security Adviser.
This is following the sacking of the former military heads on Monday.

The President had earlier in the day announced that the former service chiefs had been relieved of their duties and quickly approved the appointments of new Service Chiefs and also a new National Security Adviser.

The Chief of Defence Staff is Major-General Abayomi Gabriel Olonishakin, while Major-General T.Y. Buratai became the Chief of Army Staff.

Rear Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas is the Chief of Naval Staff while Air Vice Marshal Sadique Abubakar is the Chief of Air Staff

Air Vice Marshal Monday Riku Morgan becomes the new Chief of Defence Intelligence as Major-General Babagana Monguno (Rtd.) takes over the office of the National Security Adviser (NSA).

According to the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, the new Service Chiefs will hold their appointments in an acting capacity until confirmed by the Senate.
