A bomb went off on the outskirts of Nigeria’s northeastern city Maiduguri around midday on Monday, a military source said.
A female suicide bomber attacked a military checkpoint at Njimtilo on the outskirts of Maiduguri, along Damaturu Road.
It is not yet clear whether the explosion caused any casualties.
The incident occurred days after the government announced commercial flights would resume in Maiduguri, months after the local airport was closed over security concerns.
