Boko Haram kills 5 in latest attack in Borno

 

Suspected Boko Haram militants have killed at least five people and injured six others in an attack on Mainari village, near Maiduguri, Borno State.

According to Channels TV, the insurgents stormed Mainari, a village in Konduga Local Government, some 20 kilometres South East of Maiduguri at about 7.30pm on Wednesday, shooting sporadically.

The shooting by insurgents continued till about 8PM when the military mobilised to the area and engaged them in a gunbattle.

Some members of the Civilian Joint Task Force in Konduga told reporters that corpses of the dead were identified as villagers after the attack.
