Ambode sacks Lagos Taskforce chairman

Reason for the sack, which is coming barely two months after his appointment, was not stated, but sources said it has to do with improper conduct.

News of his removal came as a surprise to staff of the state’s taskforce. Ambode has already replaced the sacked Taskforce Chairman with Olubukola Abey, a Superintendent of Police.

There have been complaints that places where the taskforce had cleared in the past like Obalende and Oshodi were being taken over again by hoodlums. When he took over as taskforce chairman in June, Adedeji refused to use the spacious office left behind by his predecessor, Bayo Sulaiman, and went to carve out another office for himself.

It was gathered that Adedeji feared that he might be harmed if he used the old office, which was why he never stepped in until he was removed as taskforce chairman.
