Akpabio moved to London for further evaluation


Senate Minority Leader Godswill Akpabio late Tuesday morning left Abuja for London in a private jet belonging to the Akwa Ibom State government accompanied by a cardiologist and a general doctor

Akpabio was involved in a car crash early Monday morning, which left him briefly admitted at the trauma centre of the National Hospital in Abuja.

Akpabio was was said to be traumatised and in shock after the crash which involved two SUVs.

Though doctors national hospital later gave him a clean bill of health and discharged him Monday evening, sources close to the former governor told online news website that he is going to a London hospital to seek further evaluation and possible treatment.

The United States Embassy in Abuja Monday evening confirmed Akpabio’s armoured Mercedes Benz G63 AMG crashed into an armoured Suburban SUV in a US diplomatic convoy at the Bollingo Hotel junction in the capital city. There was no casualty in the crash which occurred at about 7.30 am.
