In a surprise move, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Monday paid a visit to the All Progressive Congress’ governorship candidate in Adamawaa State in the 2023 general election, Aishatu Dahiru at her private residence in Abuja.
This marked the first time the two political leaders will meet privately since the 2023 elections sparking speculation among political analysts about the purpose of their meeting.
Atiku’s visit has reignited discussions around the possibility of both working together in the 2027 general elections.
During the 2023 elections, Atiku threw his weight behind the incumbent governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri.
With the massive goodwill and unprecedented support enjoyed by Atiku in Adamawa, it is expected that any candidate he supports in the next governorship election in the state will have an easy sail.
The meeting has further raised eyebrows, with many speculating that Atiku is building alliances for a presidential bid.
