The aspirants stated that Audu, who is also contesting the party’s governorship primaries, has has been inviting some delegates to his house in Lokoja and cajoling them to submit their membership registration slip and permanent voters cards for a ransom.

One of the aspirants, James Ocholi, stated that the intention of Audu was to clone the cards and hand them over to his loyalists for proxy vote during the party’s primaries.
He said he had alrready petitioned the national leadership of the party over what he called the antics of Audu

“I have always been saying it that Prince Abubakar Audu is not a democrat. Our party would have dominated the Kogi State House of Assembly if not for the imposition of candidates by the former governor. He has never faced a primary election as he always emerged through ‘consensus arrangement.

“I can understand why he is fidgeting now that primary election has become inevitable. He needs to become a democrat if he wants to continue to be in our great party. I have already petitioned the national leadership of our party to urgently take some drastic steps to save our party from ruins.’’

Another aspirant, Alhaji Yahaya Bello also said he was monitoring the situation, appealing to all the aspirants to play by the rule of the game.
Bello, who made this known in a press statement, said the party could not toy with the window of opportunity to capture the state in the November 21, 2015, governorship election.

“The constitution of the All Progressives Congress is democratic enough to recognize the need to organize primaries to decide party candidates. A situation where some aspirants are trying to rape the system will be resisted peacefully but firmly by all democrats in the race. My team has gone round the state to campaign for votes.”

Audu has, however, dismissed the allegation, saying the aspirants accusing him of cloning PVCs are jittery of his political status.
