Nollywood actress, Kemi Afolabi, is set to make history with her forthcoming movie, M’odorisa. The movie will feature 1,000 all-female cast made up mostly of upcoming actresses, and some major faces like Fausat Balogun (Madam Saje), Peju Ogunmola, Tayo Odueke, Kemi Afolabi, among others.
According to Afolabi, M’odorisa is a film about Yoruba cultural heritage which encourages people to stay true to their roots. In her words, ‘In recent times, we’ve seen that the young generation aren’t really in sync with their culture, as many of them don’t speak their indigenous languages. Those are some of the things we hope to correct with this movie.’
The fair-skinned role-interpreter also revealed that she has been on the project for two years, and that it is also an avenue to provide a platform for talented upcoming actors who don’t have the opportunity to feature in movies. The shoot of the movie, which is produced by Olasco Films, will begin in the first week of April, and will be shot on locations in Ilaro, Ogun State.
