The new chairman In his acceptance remarks promised to unite aggrieved members and make instilling discipline in the party his topmost priority.

Today, a new era is on ground and I want to appeal to all aggrieved members to work together for the progress of our party”, he said

He called on members of the party to work as a united force to defeat the All Progressives Congress (APC) in future elections.

Salvador said, “We have ample opportunity to defeat the APC. We all have a responsibility to make this party great, let us therefore work together to make this party a great one.”

Those loyal to the faction led by former Minister of State for Defence, Ambassador Musiliu Obanikoro, rejected the outcome of the congress. A member of the group who spoke on condition of anonymity said, “How can someone emerge without a group represented? Let’s wait and see if that would fly.”
