Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, has assured that the abductors of the wife of Mr. Steve Nwosu, the Deputy Managing Director of the Sun newspapers would soon be arrested and the woman regain freedom.
Mrs Nwosu was on Monday morning kidnapped by an armed gang which stormed his Okota residence around 1.30 am.
The police commissioner said many people had been calling him since the incident, requesting to know the update.
“But what do they want me to say or do, to discuss our strategies? All I will say is that the woman will be liberated and will be reunited with her family and friends, while those behind the abduction will be made to face the music soon,” he said.
Mr Nwosu told newsmen yesterday that the kidnappers were still demanding N100 million to release his wife.
Addressing newsmen at his Okota residence yesterday, Nwosu said the matter was still deadlocked as the kidnappers were still maintaining their ground.
He said, nothing had changed since Monday when the incident occurred, but that he had left everything to God.
