For the first time since the inauguration of the eight Senate, the Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu(PDP, Enugu) is presiding over the Senate.
The Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki is attending the inauguration of the ministers at the Presidential Villa.
This is the first time an opposition Senator will be presiding over the upper Chamber since 1999 when Nigeria returned to democratic rule.
This, however, did not go down well with some APC lawamkers, who walked out of plenary in protest on Wednesday.
The APC senators were led by Senators Ahmed Lawan and George Akume.
The senators, who walked out in company with some of their colleagues.
Lawan and three others later held a brief discussion before they left to their various offices in the new senate wing.
