The Naval authorities have redeployed some senior officers.
The redeployment affected 38 senior officers comprising 34 Rear Admirals and four Commodores.
The Director of Information of the Nigerian Navy, Mr. Chris Ezekobe, said in a statement on Friday that the new strategic appointments were made to make the Navy more effective in its operations.
He said that the new deployments affected flag officers commanding the various naval commands, the principal officers at the naval headquarters and others.
Ezekobe said with the new redeployments, the former Navy Secretary, Rear Admiral, F.D Bobai, becomes the Flag Officer Commanding Western Naval Command; Rear Admiral J O Oluwole becomes the Flag Officer Commanding the Eastern Naval Command, while Rear Admiral T. Dick was named the FOC, Central Naval Command.
Others affected are Rear Admirals J O Okojie, FOC, Naval Training Command and SA Abbah, who takes over Logistics Command.
Ezekobe listed the newly appointed Principal Staff Officers at the Naval Headquarters to include Rear Admirals J.A Ajani, O.C Medani, H. H Babalola, A A Osinowo, and E. G. Ofik as Chief of Policy and Plans, Chief of Administration, Chief of Naval Transformation, Chief of Training and Operations and Chief of Naval Safety and Standard respectively.
The Naval authorities also appointed Rear Admiral A Odeh as the new Chief of Naval Engineering.
It was further stated that Rear Admiral I.O Mohammed and Surgeon Admiral E.E Enechukwu were appointed Director, Project Implementation and Director Medical Services respectively.
