Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state has chosen to ignore Senator Dino Melaye because he is more interested in developing the state, his media aide has said.
Kingsley Fanwo was reacting to the latest criticism of Bello by Melaye, who said the governor would land in jail after his tenure in 2020.
The lawmaker representing Kogi West senatorial district, in a video shoot, said Bello had no locus standi to determine who will win an election since he himself is not a voter in Kogi state.
The governor had last Wednesday, during one of the programmes marking his second year in office, said members of the National Assembly from the state had performed poorly.
Bello further said plans were on to replace the three senators and the nine members of the House of Representatives in the 2019 elections.
But following Melaye’s reaction to the governor’s comments, his Director General of Media and Publicity, Fanwo, said: “We have no reaction to such; we have decided to ignore him and it takes two people to fight. We are not interested in it.”
