Four people have been killed by flood while several houses and farm lands were destroyed in Lau Local Government Council of Taraba State.
Chairman of Lau Local Government Council of Taraba State, Nelson Banker,who disclosed this said council had set up a committee to take stock of farmlands, houses and other property destroyed by flood.
Banker added that a team from the State Emergency Management Agency also visited affected areas and temporary refugee camps set up in three locations.
He said about 5000 people were affected while more than 10,000 farms were destroyed by the flood.
He added that efforts were being made by his council to provide relief materials to the victims, pending the arrival of aid from the state government.
The chairman further said that some of the victims refused to move into refugee camps because of their experience in 2012, where they were neglected.
