Buratai, new army chief to spend Eid-el-Fitri with troops in Yobe State

Nigeria’s new Chief of Army Staff, Major-General Tukur‎ Buratai has said he would spend the Eid-el-Fitri celebration with troops at “war zone” in Damaturu, Yobe State capital.

Emerging from the presidential villa after a private meeting with President Mohammadu Buhari on Thursday, Buratai who was approached by State House Correspondents said he was just settling down for his new job and may not have much to say.

He however stated that in days to come, he would have more words for Nigerians.

“I don’t have anything to say for now. I am just a few hours on the job. With time we will be talking some more.

“I am going to Damaturu to spend the Sallah with our troops there”, he said.
