Outspoken Nigerian federal lawmaker, Ben Murray-Bruce, got what he never bargained for on Monday, May 30, 2016.
The Senator from Bayelsa State disclosed that men of the Department of State Security, DSS, prevented him from having a hand shake with President Muhammadu Buhari.
On Monday, the President threw a Presidential Dinner in Abuja. He used the occasion to interact with members of the National Assembly.
During the programme, Ben Bruce had tried to greet the President, but secret policemen attached to Buhari prevented the lawmaker.
Ben Bruce ran to Twitter to reveal how he was humiliated by the President’s security details.
“I was at the Presidential villa today. Went to the President’s table. DSS would not allow me greet him but let another Senator greet him! I have nothing against the President, however, nobody is too important to be criticized and my mouth will never be silenced,” the Senator said.
