the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in last week’s Ondo State elections, has congratulated Barrister Rotimi Akeredolu of All Progressives Congress (APC) on winning the electoral exercise.
He did this through a letter of appreciation he released to the public in the last one hour.
In the letter, Jegede narrated the troubles he went through before he could contest the election, particularly the antics of the Jimoh Ibrahim camp.
He thanked members of the public for voting for him, as well as members of PDP and his campaign team, including John Ola Mafo, his running mate at the polls.
He however expressed disappointment that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) did not postpone the election, as such a move, according to him, would have promoted fair play and transparency in the entire process.
He was, however, proud that PDP was able to corner a significant number of votes. despite the problems the party faced at the law courts.
