Nigerian artistes have been nominated in not less than 44 categories of the prestigious African Muzik Magazine Awards AFRIMMA, scheduled to hold in Dallas, Texas on October 15, 2016.

The pack include award-winning singers such as Davido, Wizkid, Olamide, Tiwa Savage, Flavour, and Yemi Alade, with new entrants like Falz, Adekunle Gold, Reekado Banks and Humblesmith.
The list also include strong contenders like Sarkodie (Ghana); C4 Pedro (Angola); Aka (South Africa); Sauti Sol (Kenya) and Diamond Platnumz ( Tanzania).
This year’s edition is the 3rd in the series and will be hosted by Nigerian comedian, Bright Okpocha, aka Basketmouth and American Reality Television Star Cynthia Bailey.
Other Nigerian artistes who have made the list include, Phyno, Patoranking, Frank Edwards, Kaffy, Bracket, Tinie Tempah, Ayo Jay, Rotimi, Uche Agu, Sinach, Clarence Peters, Patrick Elis, Dj Spinall, Dj Neptune, Dj Tunes, Dozzy Ross, Dj Deemoney, Flavour, Korede Bello, Young John, Masterkraft, Dj Coublon, Harrysong , Kcee , Iyanya, Orezi, Tekno, Kiss Daniel, Timaya and Burna Boy.
Described as the biggest African music awards in Diaspora, Founder of the scheme, Mr. Anderson Obiagwu said that he and his team are encouraged to take the award a notch higher, owing to the outstanding success of the 1st and 2nd editions which held in 2014 and 2015 respectively. “Anticipation and expectations have hit the roof for this year’s edition set to hold in Dallas on October 15th, 2016,” he said.
Continueing, Obiagwu said: “Some of Africa’s big hitters and the most impressive names on the African music scene in the past calendar year earned a mention in highly competitive categories. Wizkid, Flavour, Davido, Sarkodie, Aka are joined by fresh faces like Falz, Mr. Eazi, Locko and Bisa Kdei on the AFRIMMA 2016 Nominees list. Also for the first time in the history of AFRIMMA, North African music and Caribbean music have been recognized with categories.
